Excerpt of an interview with Henry Vokey by a Student Researcher - How to Build a Boat.

Hazel: After you laid the keel and put in the ahh all what did you do after that?

Henry: After you got her planked.

Hazel: Yeah.

Henry: Well the next thing that come was to get her tight.

Hazel: Oh ok.

Henry: In the seams.

Hazel: And what did you use that, what did you use there?

Henry: I use to ahh, well the first couple I done was only the first two or three the most I used oakum but after that we use to use that stuff that was all spun like a big line, like ahh Marlin, that's what I uses now.
