E. J. Casey: From Soldier to Showman

TRANSCRIPT

"For several years a country circuit we would follow. We played the 'Sports' days before the agricultural fairs would start each season, then we would be busy, sometimes as many as four fairs each week. In later years we organized three units each one had its own light and generator plants, trucks and cars. With the larger fairs such as Dauphin, Carman, Swan River, Russell, Yorkton, Kenora, Emo, Rainy River, we would bring our units together. Each unit would have a big Eli Ferris wheel and a merry-go-round, and then we carried as many as ten children's rides. We provided a pretty fair midway especially when we set up three Eli wheels on one location."
