"Captain Sparks and his animal show featured three lions and several monkeys who would perform for him. This show was especially educational; so many people had never seen a live animal, let alone a live lion and especially three performing lions. We had one incident that could have been a tragedy. One night one of the show monkeys opened the lion's cages, and it just so happened that they were not hungry so our watchman rounded them up and back into their cages safely."
