What do you remember about the grindstone quarries, here in Lower Cove?
I don't actually remember all that much other than they were the same right now, except that people used to use the quarries and I'd say when I was younger, especially up that way. Ice, in the wintertime or early spring, Farmers would cut blocks of ice and take them to their home and they'd use them to keep their milk and things, people had farms. The quarry not far from here on the left, no right hand side, and that's where they would cut the ice. They's go right on the ice with the horses, yes, cos his father was one of them, he'd be down there.
