'I guess everyone was talking. It was kind of a movement or an in thing, you know. No matter where you went, people were talking immigration…. Well, Holland was just out of war and things were beginning to pickup. You know a lot of people couldn't get started and Ja, if you wanted to be a farmer and you definitely had to, you know, the future was to immigrate. You know, at least to have your own farm. Ja, and then if you stop in a bicycle shop they talk immigration. Seemed to be the topic of the day and if you go to a barber shop you'd have the same thing, you know everybody was ,,,ja, actually the talk of the country. And so a lot of people left and, ja, more and more people got interested and that lasted a few years, and then it dropped off.'
