George H. Milne and his brand new Fleet Canuck CF-DPM. A former Canadian Pacific airlines pilot, George left the company to establish the first Yukon based flying school in 1947. A year later he expanded his services to include charter flying and changed the name to Whitehorse Flying Services.

Whitehorse Flying Services Fairchild 71 CF BXH, purchased from Northern Airways Ltd. In April of 1950, shown here on the east side of the Whitehorse airport. Built in 1929, she was about to embark on her last season.

The end of the BXH. On August 7, 1950 the venerable old Fairchild was enroute to Goldin lake with Norm Hartnell at the controls, when a fire broke out in the belly. Following a rapid descent onto quiet Lake , Norm escaped uninjured, but the aircraft was destroyed.
