The "Queen of the Yukon", after suffering a forced landing due to a congealed oil line, is towed up the Stewart River to Mayo by Archie Close and his team of horses. The aircraft was undamaged, but the oil starved engine required a complete overhaul.

On May 5, 1928 Tommy Stephens, with two passengers on-board, was attempting to land the "Queen of the Yukon" in a gusty crosswind at Whitehorse. On his second try, he bounced once, drifted off the runway, and crashed into Billy Puckett's Model T Ford truck.

Passenger Elizabeth McDougal Titus was seriously injured in the crash, while the second passenger Mrs. Tommy Stephens and pilot Tommy Stephens sustained minor bruises. The Ryan was a total wreck.

After the loss of the "Queen of the Yukon" the fledgling company scrambled to find a replacement aircraft. Since a new Ryan could not be purchased on such short notice, the company bought this open cockpit, three-place Alexander Eaglerock, shown here at Keno, YT.

The Alexander Eaglerock, christened "Northern Light" and fitted with skies, on the Stewart River ice at Mayo. This aircraft lasted thirteen months with the company before it was wrecked in a crash at Coalmine Lake near Carmacks.
