After the loss of the "Queen of the Yukon" the fledgling company scrambled to find a replacement aircraft. Since a new Ryan could not be purchased on such short notice, the company bought this open cockpit, three-place Alexander Eaglerock, shown here at Keno, YT.

The Alexander Eaglerock, christened "Northern Light" and fitted with skies, on the Stewart River ice at Mayo. This aircraft lasted thirteen months with the company before it was wrecked in a crash at Coalmine Lake near Carmacks.

Upon purchase, the "Queen of the Yukon II" was flown up the B.C. coast to the Yukon on floats. Enroute they did whatever charter work they could find to help pay for the trip. Here, Clyde Wann (left) and Gordon Stewart are loading dynamite at Stewart, B.C. for a nearby mine.

Pilot Pat Patterson in the cockpit of the "Queen of the Yukon II". Patterson had joined Yukon Airways in 1928 when he flew the Alexander Eaglerock "Northern Light" from Colorado to Mayo, and stayed to fly aircraft until delivery could be taken of the second Ryan.
