The Stirling House, situated on the North Island of Twillingate was quite large, 50 feet across the front. The house was in a large grassy garden surrounded by many outbuildings and enclosed by a white picket fence.

The Stirling House. The Stirlings were noted for their entertaining and invitation to their social gatherings were sought after. Their elegant dinner parties were given in style with fine table linens, china, silver and crystal and flowers from their beautifully kept garden. Household servants and a groundsman were kept, and extra staff brought in to help with the dinner parties
