Twillingate was a hub of activity with many ocean going vessels making easy access to all parts of the world. At times the harbour would be filled with fishing vessels preparing for the voyage to the Labrador fishery or in the early spring to the seal hunt. There was an atmosphere of excitement with ships bringing the latest goods from Europe or the USA and many interesting people from abroad.19
