George Fair, brother-in-law of H. H. Wylie, was hired as the park superintendent and was responsible for the upkeep of the park and maintaining order. George Fair and his family lived in the caretaker's cottage year-round, on the corner of Grand Avenue and Phelps Avenue. After 43 years of service to the Grimsby Beach community, he retired in 1953. George Fair died in May 1961.

The changes made to Grimsby Park under the ownership of H. H. Wylie attracted larger crowds to Grimsby Park. In 1916, Wylie sold the property.
