The backbone of the rodeo is the loyalty of the fans who return year after year. They are the "paying" crowd. The fans applaud the good rides and the ones that are not so good, too. They cheer loudly for the hometown cowboys and sigh when they don't do well. Rodeo fans travel from rodeo to rodeo and they all have their favorites among the cowboys and the stock.
