Seaman's cannery at Cape Cliff on the Gulf Shore of Malagash, was efficiently run and a well equiped enterprise. The fishing boat is larger than commonly used and has two masts.

Prices received by lobster fishermen never seemed very high; prices fluctuated despite high demand. The 1914 -1918 war saw a drop in lobster prices yet again, and by the mid 1900's the cannery industry had virtually disappeared. However, many people still make a living off the lobster and fish in the Northumberland Strait. Some years the money received is very low, while the price paid for lobster by the public is high, especially in restaurants; someone makes a profit, but it is not usually the lobster fisherman!
