Joan Coe was a War Bride, married in Northern London at Saint Mellitus Church on October 9, 1945 to Elvin Coe. Like many war brides, Joan had trials adjusting to life in Canada. Joan discusses her experiences of the war, rationing and the journey overseas to Canada.

Margaret Easton was also a war bride. She was wed on August 8, 1944 in Saint Mary's Anglican Church. Margaret took the long journey to Canada where she waited for her husband, Harvey's, return on January 1946.

Marion Manning was also a woman wed during the war era, unlike Joan and Margaret, Marion was already in Canada and was boarding with her sister while working at the General Motors plant in Oshawa. Marion was wed on April 1943 to Ronald John A.K.A. Bud, and she discussed her experiences of living in Oshawa and awaiting the return of her husband.
