REFERENCE MATERIALS

Much of the materials used in this exhibit come directly from the incredible collection of family histories and photos the Lamerton Historical Society put together in nine photo albums, one binder and a book, "Land of the Lakes", for our museum.

We wish to thank their members for all the hard work it took to gather this information and preserve it for our community and others.

We hope that by using their wealth of materials in this online project, we are able to increase their work's audience.

ADDITIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS

We had wonderful interviews with the descendants of some of the original families; Bill Neis, Robert Ripley, Marge Flewwelling, Chub Estell, and members of the Ray and Thomas families, Donna Jean Hauer, Iola E. Lutness and Guy Thomas.

Also, Helen Benson, of the Lamerton Historical Society and Isabelle Dermott (nee Cairns)

Don Wilson, Roger Laforce, and Jim McKenzie were especially helpful with identification of equipment, eras, and memories of people and places.

Edgar Baker lent assistance with some historical facts, and Brian Bellamy was also a valuable resource before he passed away.

Don Salmon and Wayne Matier also contributed to the identification and eras of some of the farm machinery.

We thank the many who helped us via email with the identification process of machines and equipment, and are especially grateful to:

Herb Dixon, President and General Manager,Alberta Railway Museum for assisting us with the identification of our trains.

And Howard Snyder, Manager, Remington Carriage Museum for helping us ID our horse drawn wagons and buggies.

We would also like to express appreciation to our local school, who allowed us time to interview some school children to assist us with our project.

The funding to complete this exhibit came from both the Canadian Heritage Information Network, and from Museums Alberta.
