Back then many old buildings in town were moved to different locations and given a new 'lease' on life. The left hand section of the Inglis house can now be found at 664 Main Street.

In one case, the back ell was removed from a house, as the second wife of the owner thought it was haunted by his first wife.

Inglis expanded the remaining structure to create the wonderfully asymmetrical building we see today. The decorative trim and pedimented dormers add to an impressive building for the time.
