M.C. Holden, a former teacher, was the fourth managing director of the company. He had proven his managing skills in Winnipeg and B.C. His considerable talent was now directed to his new position and the little village.

Milt was responsible for many great ideas and encouraged his staff to offer ideas also. The company belonged to no national association so could make changes to improve coverage or save money at a moment's notice.

The village benefited greatly from his insight and energy. He helped open the doors to a new hospital, raised funds for the church and made water and sewer services available to much of the village.

Holden petitioned and was granted the Federal Government's permission to sell life insurance. The first policy was sold to his grandson. This meant that the company now needed specialists, executives and systems not available in Wawanesa. The executive function was moved to Winnipeg while the Wawanesa office became "Head office" and the "Prairie branch."

Milt held many prestigious positions and received awards. He is remembered by his staff as a boss who treated them as family and made sure they were well looked after with a generous retirement package.

"The Golden Holden" era of company management ended in 1971 after 23 years. Between 1960 and 1970 business had tripled!
