Today there are about 55 employees along with three summer students employed at the Mutual. They enjoy the extensive renovations completed in 2005 to the office that brought it into the 21st century.
Originally the directors were local men. Today business leaders from across Canada sit on the board of the Wawanesa Insurance Company. Amazingly they come to the little village every year for the company's annual meeting. For some directors it means that after their flight to Winnipeg they will spend five hours coming and going to be able to conduct the meeting in the birthplace of the company. In an age of speed and convenience this honor is treasured by the village.
It all started with 20 farmers investing $20.00. Now with nearly two million policies and over four billion in assets the village is justly proud to have its name connected with such a success story and so grateful for the stability it has provided.
