North on Dick Damron Drive
Heading north on Dick Damron Drive and directly behind Servus Credit union are four lots. At one time the two furthest north lots were owned by Elmer Calkins (1935) who operated a John Deere dealership with a garage. The family resided in the back. Elmer had a shop in Forshee and moved the buildings to this location. Charlie Brown operated a shop next door and there was a residence on the south lot. Elmer sold the dealership to Buzz Farrell in 1949. Charlie Bruinsma purchased all four lots and bulldozed them flat. In 1976 Merlyn Haarstad built an operative repair shop on the two north lots.Juuti Electric purchased the south two lots and built a shop. Various people worked out of these two buildings over the last few years. In the M. Haarstad building Len Long operated an auto body shop and was followed by the Houghtons, "First Choice Autobody". They were followed by the Hanahs in the auto body business as well. Presently Kevin Jones owns the north building and rents it out to Daryl Pederson (CD Oilfield Maintenance Ltd). The two lots to the south are owned by the Cartwrights who own and operate , a restaurant - Piccolo - 2 for 1 Pizza & Pasta. The Bentley Museum Society purchased the back half of Cartwrights' lots where they will construct a new exhibit building. The Bentley Museum bought their original lot (4929-51 Ave.) from the Witherals in 1991.
A little to the north and on the west side of the street is the old Talsma Welding shop now owned by Brian Dickau (Magnium Hyrovac). John Van Leest purchased this blacksmith shop and property in the spring of 1944 and operated a blacksmith and welding shop. In 1952 John sold the property and business to John Talsma. Albert and Shirley built a new welding shop in the industrial area. This building remained vacant until Magnium Hydrovac purchased the property. Right next door is Westview Apartments, home to many seniors. Before the construction of Westview Apartments this was the site of a temporary trailer court. North of Westview Apartments is the Arena and curling rink complex. West in the Morrisroe Recreational area and behind the arena complex is the Bentley Agricutural Building.
