Casey and his new wife Emmeliene returned to Canada together via Southhampton, Quebec City, Niagara Falls, Toronto and finally, Winnipeg. They had two children together, Madeleine and Theadore (Ted) but, tragically, Emmeliene passed away at age twenty-seven from Tuberculosis when their children were five and three years old, respectively.

Casey married Regina-born Mary Anne Mitchell that same year and together they had three more children: David, Helen and Cecelia,. By examining photographs of Casey's family (many of which were taken against the backdrop of the carnival or travels on the carnival circuit), it is evident that his wife and children were a significant source of joy in his life and contributed to the success of his carnival operations.

Both of his boys worked concessions and rides for E.J. Casey Shows prior to their enlisting in the military and subsequent deaths. Casey would later remark that not having a son to carry on his carnival business was one his great regrets.
