The inscription notes "An internationally renowned writer, artist and social reformer, Seton was passionately interested in nature and the relationship of Native peoples to their environment". The plaque was unveiled on September 27, 1997 and is located on Main Street in Carberry just to the north of The Seton Centre. The plaque was awarded by The Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada. The celebration provided an opportunity for another wonderful development for The Seton Centre. It was at this unveiling that Dr. John Wadland, well-known Seton scholar, presented The Seton Centre with his manuscript of "Ernest Thompson Seton: Man in Nature and the Progressive Era d1880-1915". In addition to his PHD dissertation Dr, Wadland also donated his remarkable collection of Seton books, photographs and newspaper articles to The Seton Centre.
