City of Red Deer Community Services Director, Don Moore, gave an address at the June 20th, 1987 City sponsored V.I.P. luncheon held within the Laft Hus immediately before the public Official opening ceremonies were held outside. Seated Left to Right are: The honourable Gordon Towers (MP for Red Deer), his wife, Doris Towers, Don Moore, John Oldring (MLA for Red Deer), and Betty Wulff. Several other guest speakers were introduced by Debuty Mayor, Gail Surkan, notably Oddvar Mosnesset, Consul-General of Norway, Arne Johannessen, Consul of Norway, as well as Gordno Towers, John Oldring and Stan Wulff.
