The Costume Museum continues to acquire significant items which illustrate fashions and tastes. This includes this dress designed by French designer Paco Rabanne. Rabanne started his career designing jewellery for major fashion houses, starting his own atelier in 1966. He is known for using unconventional materials such as metal, paper, and plastic and for his designs for such 1960s films as Barbarella.
