The Rexall Drug Store located in what was known as the Phil Fraser building. Barth's Billiards is seen on the left, and the Community XL Store on the right. The druggist, Arlie Douglas, is standing in the doorway. The XL Store was located in the Van Meter Building which was on the Butterfly Boutique site of today (2004). The photo was taken in 1939. Shortly afterward, Arlie Douglas joined the RCAF and was killed on a flight mission in 1943 during World War II.
