This plaque carved by Mr Charles Volrath of Chalk River Ontario during the time the Ontario Hydro Electric dam was being constructed at nearby Rapid Des Joachins P.Q. (1946 - 1951) is believed to portray Mr Volrath's interpretation of energy (horsepower) emerging from the waters of the Ottawa River. Attempts to translate the inscription have as yet been unsuccessful.
