West Saltfleet Township has become Forgotten Saltfleet. The City of Hamilton encroached early, then annexed the land (1954-6).

What once defined western Saltfleet: prosperous farms and prominent families, has given way to a busy commercial corridor in the City of Hamilton.

The stewardship of the Red Hill Valley since the annexation has been one of further environmental degradation and urban sprawl, with no end in sight.

A surivivor from the pre-20th century Saltfleet would truly call these the Lost Lands.
