Winona is the newest part of Saltfleet to undergo considerable urbanization. Its fruit orchards of the past are quickly becoming sub urban housing tracts, much as Fruitland and Olde Stoney Creek went before.

Winona has shifted, from being focused on the lake front, on the railway tracks, and on Fifty Road, in favour of Highway 8, the escarpment, and Winona Road.

Perhaps the greatest testament to the recognition of Winona as a modern community was the 2001 arrival of a Tim Hortons on farmland that once belonged to one of Winona's oldest families: the Pettit family, thus symbolizing the change from old to new.

This on-line exhibit is only a portion of the Erland Lee Museum's photographic archives.
