Interview with Mrs. Elizabeth Donaldson Smith, WWII Farmerette- Sleeping at the High School Before Moving to Nixon Hall
First of all though, before we got in there, we had to sleep in the high school and that wasn't a very happy experience. It was summer time, we were double basement. Water condensed and came down the walls and any clothes I had brought became mouldy just from dampness, but despite that, we had a lot of fun. Gals of that age, little minuscule things might bother them but if they're on a roll and they're having an adventure, they go with it.
