John Wright was a pioneer of the Cartwright district. Official records show that he homesteaded on the north-west quarter of 18-1-14. In 1892 he returned to Kingston, Ontario, where he married and brought back his wife, Charlotte Walker, back to his homestead south of Cartwright.
