This is a photo of a contemporary logging truck. There are two types of trucks used in the logging industry which are designed for either on-highway or off-highway use. The main difference between these two types of trucks are the width of the bunks and the size of the load (restricted for highway transport)

The government granted large tracts of land to rail companies to fund the development of the railway system in Canada. Selling this land to new settlers was essential to the economic success of the railway and the expansion of Western Canada. Gardens maintained by station masters advertised the land's fertility to passengers.

The Museum houses a large collection of chain saws displayed in an original Canadian National (CN) bunkhouse. The oldest saw in the collection is from 1938. Several saws in the collection required two people to run them, one on either end of the saw. Today, this would be considered extremely dangerous.
