Cleo's brother-in-law Bill Girgulis, who had been living with Sam and Cleo since 1982, died in 1984. Her other brother-in-law, Jim, had passed away the previous year. In 1993 Cleo and Sam celebrated their 50th anniversary with family and friends. Sam passed away on March 10th of 2001 after nearly 60 years of marriage to Cleo.54
