Harry Hudkins, Inventor of the Hudkins Plow and His Wife
1912
Mirror, Alberta

15

Harry Hudkins' was the inventor of the Hudkin's Breaking Plow. His plow had a seat on it, that the farmer could sit on, rather than walking behind the plow.

This is a photo of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hudkins first wedding anniversary.

Harry and his family lived a few kilometers SW of Mirror, close to Alix.

Harry describes the plow in his brochure on the next page>

Victor Flick is working with a team of six horses, who are pulling a wooden frame plow, 'possibly' a Hudkins plow.

Looks like they are stuck on a root.

Frank and Jean Ashdown are shown here plowing and harrowing, in the early 20's.

This was a unique setup, with a two-bottom plow nearest the driver breaking the land, and diamond harrows (or chain harrows?), off to the right, smoothing over the rows just plowed.
