Horses have always been an important part of the Brown family's lives.
The interest in horses was instilled at an early age as shown in the photo of Vernard, Harris's son at a very early age.

Vernard passed this love of horses on to his children. The photo shows Bob,Barbara and Lance Brown on Dolly, one of the last horses to be on the Brown farm.
Barbara Brown Hare has carefully documented the Brown family history from her great great grandfather David's arrival in Westmeath Township in 1846 through the five generations who spent their lives on the Brown Homestead.
