Though Young Judaea continued with a number of clubs through the 1950s, leaders including Lila Brownberg and Doreen Kanter and in the mid-1960s when Diane Koven, June Fransblow, Marlene Fransblow and Miriam Goldstein were leaders, a declining population of young people meant its eventual demise during the 1980s.

Sporting activity amongst Jewish girls of Saint John was initially to be found in the two places - schools and the YMHA on Horsfield Street, which was founded in 1919, the YWHA being founded soon afterwards. Gym classes and other sporting activities were held in the YMHA building or in the Synagogue hall. There were Jewish sports teams for the boys, but girls who competed in sports did so mainly on school teams, the exception being a girl's bowling team.
