Anne Seaman, the eldest daughter of Amos and Jane Seaman was born in 1818. She married Senator Alexander McFarlane.

Gilbert was born in 1820 and married Frances Baker, from Barronsfield. It was Gilbert who continued to operate the grindstone quarries and the Minudie Mine after his fathers death. He was also clerk in the Seaman Store and postmaster for many years. Gilbert kept a dairy for ten years, from 1875 to 1885 which was preserved by his descendents.

One of the extracts from Gilbert's diary:
May 1884
Sat. 31 This day ends my services as Post Master of this place and also as Money Order Officer, having filled the former position for over 40 years and the latter for 8 years. Mr. Wm. A. Downey is my successor for the former office.

The third son of Amos and Jane Seaman was Job, born in 1822. Job was the fourth son to die before his parents in 1861. The next child was Rufus (shown here in this photo) who was born in 1825. He never married.

Mary, who married Edward Vernon, was born in 1826. The Vernon's built a large home below the Seaman Universalist Church, in Minudie.

The eighth child of Amos and Jane was William and he was born in 1828. In 1832 their youngest son Ephraim was born.

This photo is of his third daughter, Jane, born in 1830. Jane married George Hibbard, who became manager of the grindstone quarries in Lower Cove, and a trustee of the Lake Cemetery along with his brother-in-law Gilbert Seaman. Jane and George lived in a beautiful home in Lower Cove, that Amos gave them for a wedding present. Jane died in 1904.

The youngest child of Amos and Jane, and their fourth daughter, was Sarah, (left) born in 1834, who married Dr. Mitchell.

Frances Baker (right), also born in 1834, married Gilbert Seaman, one of Sarah's older brothers.
