In the 1950s, another fire destroyed CP installations in Sutton. This time it was the warehouse where locomotives were kept. Thankfully, this occurred at a time when Sutton had its own fire squad and had set-up an aqueduct network thus limiting the extent of the damages.

Several events and issues were part of the history of the Sutton Railway. Some of these topics sparked controversy and disagreement among people, but everyone agreed on one fact: that with the closing of the railway station Sutton lost more than just a building, it lost part of its soul.
