In 1962, due to financial difficulties, the Women's Wentworth Historical Society transferred Battlefield House Museum and Park to the Niagara Park's Commission.

The Society was actively involved in the restoration and furnishing of the House until the early 1970s.

In 1982, after 83 years in existence, the Women's Wentworth Historical Society disbanded, due to a lack of new and younger members.

Today, Battlefield House Museum and Park is owned and operated by the City of Hamilton.
