This is it; it's the end of summer holidays and the end of this diary. I will keep if for the rest of my life and later, I will read it to my grandchildren so they will understand how we lived. In my new class this year, I wonder what will be our new project...maybe some sort of play. Last year, my sister acted in a wonderful play...it was a very sad story. This diary I have finished writing will later serve to show what my town was like to my grandchildren who might live in a big city, far away from the hills surrounding the town of Notre Dame de Lourdes. I think that if we know our history, we might better understand the present. And when I think of those poor and courageous people who arrived in Lourdes at the end of the 19th century or at the turn of the century, I think that in spite of their suffering, they would be very proud to see what their town has become today.
