Long time resident of Ioco, George Kingsbury, attended the Caledonian Games in 1928 and was presented with the BC Championship trophy for horseshoes by J.W. Cornett, the governor of British Columbia. In total, George won three provincial competitions for horseshoes. George was employed at the Ioco refinery from 1926-1971 and lived on the Ioco townsite until 1957.
