In addition to the parade, the company organized a plowing match to showcase old and new products and machinery. Thousands of visitors attended the plowing match, looking at the machinery, petting the animals, or watching equipment demonstrations out in the fields.

Equipment from both the Cockshutt Plow Company and the Frost & Wood Company were on display during the plowing match. However, for reasons unknown, a sign for the Massey-Harris Company is clearly visible in this photo.

It was not uncommon for companies to sell a product under their brand, and not manufacture the item. The Lister Company most likely made these cream separators even though the Cockshutt Plow Company sold them.

During an address to the Rotary Club, Frost & Wood's General Sales Manager, George G. Scott, assured the group the company would never leave Smiths Falls.

"There are hard times behind us and, no doubt, there will be hard times in the future, but the men behind Frost & Wood have faced difficulties and periods of depression in the past and have emerged triumphant." (The Record-News, June 22, 1939)
