Long before he ran engines, Dennis Holdener started on the railway calling crews. Calling Bob Lymburne to work perplexed Dennis as Bob was always ready and waiting when he arrived. Bob's position as a permanent fireman in the Revelstoke yard reflected CP's strong connection to the community and as Dennis learned needed to be respected. A famous world record ski jumper in his youth, Bob Lymburne suffered an accident leaving him with limit abilities.

Cook cars and cabooses were refuges when out on the track or being part of a train crew, referred to as the running trades. Ed remembers the highlight of engineering staff being fed by the cook cars when attending the site of a derailment. Can you imagine the effort required to clean up after a derailment?
