the Great Influenza outbreak
of 1918.
   We could find families
having a picnic after a
friendly game of baseball at
the end of the school year
and the beginnings of the
extra hands to help out on
the farm for the summer

months. Depending on the
weather, some years harvest
was delayed and that would
also mean the delay of school
opening that fall.
   Conclusion – the demise
of the country schools due to
Larger School Unit.
