Abandoned, Then Embraced: The Kinsol Trestle
Cowichan Valley Museum
Duncan , British Columbia

Enter

preserve the Kinsol Trestle
was a contentious one; it
garnered national and
international media
attention. A partnership
between the Cowichan Valley
Museum & Archives and the
Shawnigan Lake Museum was
formed to explore the story
of the Kinsol Trestle through

an oral history project that
resulted in a collection of
intriguing archival material,
much of it which is included
in this exhibit. The
interviews give a unique
perspective to the story of
the Kinsol Trestle. The
rehabilitated structure will
be a world-class heritage

destination.
