«At 7:30pm approximately 100 friends gathered to witness the sod-turning ceremony of the Dugald Costume Museum. The event was chaired by Vice-President, Howard Smith. Senator Joseph Guay represented and brought greetings from the Federal Govt. He, along with the D.C.C.I. President, Wyn Van Slyck, turned the first sod. Andy Anstett, M.L.A. for Springfield represented the Provincial Govt. and, as well as bringing greetings, presented the Provincial grant to the building of the Dugald Costume Museum in the amount of $120,000...Following the ceremony, the group gathered at the Springfield Curling Club for refreshments.»
