Treasures from Trunks: The Story of the Dugald Ladies Fashion Review

 

 

«Our lives are like a tapestry, each thread enhances the pattern. A brilliant thread was added to ours yesterday. Her Majesty arrived at the Dugald Costume Museum at 10:35 am on October 6, 1984 to be greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of approximately 3000 people who gathered along each side of the barricade. The weather was mild and pleasant. Twenty-three ladies and one child from the Fashion Review were dressed in replica costumes and formed a guard of honour...The Queen was welcomed by the Honourable Andrew Anstett, Minister of Municipal Affairs, and Mrs. Anstett...I asked Her Majesty to sign the guestbook which she graciously did after carefully examining the pen. Colleen Holland, who was in the guard of honour, stepped forward and presented the Queen with three pink carnations as we passed by before entering the building. I offered to hold the flowers and the offer was readily accepted...
