Getting Here From There

TRANSCRIPT

But as I was driven over the site of the old town above I felt depressed. The buildings were no longer there, the street nothing but a trail and weed grown; gone were the hotels, saloons, hostess houses, none left. I saw some old foundations which must have been under building after I left in November 1885 and I depressingly reflected I am the only person still alive who can remember the town of Farwell as it was in its glory as a pioneer town, 59 years have gone by somehow and the old town is forgotten and few can even tell you were it was let alone its history. It is so hard to realise that over the gap of years such, I say tragical changes have taken place. I wonder if anyone has ever thought of writing a history of Farwell.
