TRANSCRIPT

We jumped on the Big Bend Hill for a few years and the highway goes right through where the jump was before. The biggest hill there, as far as I know, was about 180 feet. It was a pretty good hill. Arnfinn Bergman was over here, he came with the Norwegian team in 1950 and then he ended up marrying a local girl, and he was kind of coaching Johnny and I along. I had a fairly long jump on the "C" class hill but I never had the best landing in the world. I came in close to the dip and I went down in between my knees head first and rolled up. And he thought I was dead and I thought I was too.
