Amazing Lace
Images:

The tradition of making lace is centuries old and was brought to the St. Marys area by Scottish, Irish, English and other European immigrants. Lace is the term used to describe any delicate fabric made in an open web-like pattern and there are many techniques and materials used to create this effect. The following part of the exhibit will feature four local lace-makers: Susan Towle, Joyce Eley, Hilda Andrews and Margaret King.
