My mother was a Bourchier, and they built, when they were married they built the Briars…..eh, they built, um, the Hospital opposite the Manor, and father had a trouble, a little bit of sinus trouble, and he couldn't, it was too damp there, so he sold it to the church and moved up to Ainslie Hill. And mother was - the original Bourchier store is opposite the town hall and it was built about 1820, and their log cabin he had a saw mill on one side of the river, a flour mill and behind the present Town Hall has been twisted around into a woollen mill and a man named Cuttle from Boston came to run the woollen mill afterwards it was a cheese factory. In 1844 the Bourchier log cabin was burned it was just opposite the flour mill so mother was born over the store in 1844.
