TRANSCRIPT

Interviewer: Did they build a hall there? A community hall?

Eileen Walker: Oh yes but we had a community hall too on the refinery before that. Which was known as the Ioco hall there which they used to have concerts and people, were, they all got together, and if they had a voice or if they could recite or dance or there was a lot of Scottish dancing and that type of stuff. You know they would get busy and perform and have a great time. Yes, and they, a lot of people used to come over from Port Moody just as we used to go over there and entertain. I don't know they just seemed to, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. We even had exhibitions and May Days and all that stuff over here.

Interviewer: Did Ioco have its own May Day?

Eileen Walker: Oh yes they had their May Day too.

Interviewer: Did they?

Eileen Walker: Sure, yes they did. That was even before the townsite they had little May Days.

Interviewer: Is that so?

Eileen Walker: Sure they did that's right.
